1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Resilyo ("the App"), published by FORETALE STUDIO (FTS), a simplified joint-stock company (SASU) registered in Lyon, France (SIREN 938 483 914) ("the Publisher", "we", "us"), handles your data. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Key principle: Resilyo is built to work without the internet, and to keep the data it handles to a strict minimum.

Every feature works with no connection at all — that is the situation the App is made for. There is no user account and no user database: your content stays on your device. The few network exchanges the App makes are limited to what is strictly necessary, and none of them identifies you. This reflects the data-minimisation principle of the GDPR (Art. 5(1)(c)).

2. Data Controller

For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws:

Since the App does not collect or process personal data on any server, the Publisher's role as data controller is limited to the App software itself. All data processing occurs locally on your device under your control.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data exclusively on your device using a local database (SQLite):

3.1 Household Data

  • Number of adults, children, and babies in your household
  • Preparation duration preference

3.2 Inventory Data

  • Items in your home stock (quantities, purchase dates, expiry dates)
  • Storage location names you create
  • Items in your emergency bags
  • Completion status of educational modules

3.3 Preferences

  • Language selection
  • Display theme and visual preferences
  • Notification preferences
  • Application usage streak

3.4 Legal Acceptance

  • Record of your acceptance of Terms of Use and Privacy Policy
  • Version of Terms accepted
  • Date of acceptance

4. Data We Do NOT Collect

The Publisher does not collect, receive, store, or have access to:

  • Your name, email, phone number, or any personal identifier
  • Your location or geographic data
  • Device identifiers, IP addresses, or fingerprints
  • Usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry
  • Health data, biometric data, or sensitive personal data
  • Photos, contacts, or any other device data outside the App

No user account is required. Your content stays on your device, and nothing the App transmits identifies you.

4 bis. In-app purchase and payment data

The one-time "Resilyo Complete" purchase is processed entirely by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play. We do not receive, store or see any payment data (card details, identity, billing address). The only element kept is a local marker, on your device, indicating that the full version is unlocked. Purchase restoration only queries your app-store account, at your request, and transmits no personal data to the publisher.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR — Art. 6)

For users in the European Union, European Economic Area, and United Kingdom:

The processing of data on your device is based on:

  • Article 6(1)(a) — Consent: You consent to local data processing by accepting these terms and using the App.
  • Article 6(1)(b) — Contract performance: Processing is necessary to provide the App's features (inventory tracking, recommendations).

Since no data is transmitted to the Publisher, most GDPR obligations regarding data controller responsibilities do not apply in practice. Nevertheless, we comply with the spirit and letter of the regulation.

6. Data Sharing

We do not share your data with anyone. There are no:

  • Third-party analytics services
  • Advertising networks
  • Social media integrations
  • Cloud storage providers
  • External APIs or web services receiving your data

6 bis. Network connections

The App is offline-first: every feature works with no connection, and none of your personal data is ever transmitted. For completeness, these are the only occasions on which the App touches the network — none of them sends personal data:

  • Update check (optional, on by default, switchable in Settings) — a read of a public version file hosted on foretalestudio.com. It sends nothing about you; it only learns whether a newer version exists and whether a promotion is running. The host's standard server logs record the request exactly as they would any web page visit.
  • In-app purchase and restore (started by you) — handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play. We receive no payment or identity data (see Section 4 bis).
  • Review prompt (started by you) — the store's own review prompt; no App data is transmitted.
  • Bug report (started by you) — opens a pre-filled email containing only the app version, device model, operating system, interface language and a timestamp. You send it yourself, from your own mailbox.

There is no analytics, no telemetry, no automatic crash reporting, no advertising network, and no push server.

7. Data Storage and Security

7.1 Local Storage

All data is stored in a local SQLite database within the App's sandboxed storage area, protected by your device's operating system security:

  • Android: App data is sandboxed per-application; other apps cannot access it
  • iOS: App data is stored in the app's private container

7.2 Backup and Export

The App offers an optional data export feature. Exported data is in JSON format and shared via your device's native sharing mechanism. You are responsible for the security of exported data.

7.3 Limitations

On rooted (Android) or jailbroken (iOS) devices, the operating system's sandboxing may be compromised. The Publisher is not responsible for data security on modified devices.

8. Your Rights (GDPR — Articles 15–22)

For users in GDPR-applicable regions, you have the following rights:

8.1 Right of Access (Art. 15)

All your data is visible directly within the App at all times. There is no hidden data.

8.2 Right to Rectification (Art. 16)

You can modify any data in the App at any time through the normal user interface.

8.3 Right to Erasure (Art. 17)

You can delete any individual item or all data by:

  • Deleting items within the App
  • Uninstalling the App (removes all local data)

8.4 Right to Data Portability (Art. 20)

The App provides a data export feature (Settings > Export) that exports all your data in a standard, machine-readable JSON format.

8.5 Right to Restrict Processing / Right to Object (Art. 18, 21)

Since all processing is local and under your control, you can restrict or stop processing at any time by ceasing to use the App.

8.6 No Automated Decision-Making (Art. 22)

The App does not perform automated decision-making or profiling. Recommendations are based on static formulas applied to your household composition data.

9. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal data from children. The App is a household tool intended for use by adults to manage family preparedness. Household composition data (number of children, babies) is statistical and does not identify individual children.

10. International Users

10.1 European Union / EEA / United Kingdom

Full GDPR rights apply as described in Section 8. No data transfers outside your device occur.

10.2 United States

The App does not collect personal information as defined by CCPA/CPRA. No "sale" or "sharing" of personal information occurs.

10.3 Canada

The App complies with PIPEDA principles. No personal information is collected or disclosed.

10.4 Other Jurisdictions

The App's offline-only architecture ensures compliance with most data protection frameworks worldwide, as no personal data is collected or transmitted.

11. Future Changes

11.1 Potential Online Features

Future versions of the App may introduce optional online features such as:

  • Cloud backup and synchronization
  • Collaborative household management
  • Community features

If and when such features are introduced:

  • They will be opt-in only — you must explicitly enable them
  • A new privacy consent will be requested before any data transmission
  • This Privacy Policy will be updated with full details of data processing
  • You will be prompted to review and accept the updated policy

11.2 Policy Updates

When this Privacy Policy is updated:

  • The new version will be available within the App
  • You will be notified and asked to review changes
  • The version number and effective date will reflect the update

If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority:
